{Glimpses from the Week}

.:happy birthday daddy:.

Of course to get the full effect you would also see~

Dirty dishes in the sink, zinnias on the table, buckets for getting sick in, children’s Tylenol on the counter, muddy footprints on the floor, sun-kissed noses, and Raffi singing Baby Beluga in the background.

The beautiful, the mundane, the messy, the sad, the little victories, the mistakes, all of it mixed together… that was our week.  How was yours?

    Mine was mostly spent working and babysitting.  I’m really starting to look forward to working less so I can actually start sharing more time with my husband and more time enjoying my son.  I feel like I just have too much going on juggling all these little things.  Life was simpler and more enjoyable when I was working much less or not at all.

    I can’t wait to get back in my craft space again, too!

    You’re family is just adorable!  I love the one of them reading in the chair together!  And sick buckets are never a fun thing.  Well wishes!!!!

    *sigh* yes, very nice.  There are always beautiful things to see, if you have the eyes to see them!  And of course there’s always the not so savory parts of life, too.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

    I’m glad to see glimpses of your week, April. Your kids are darling. It is so cute to see them reading together. I wanted to eat that corn on the cob! Haha
    Your ribs and asparagus, tomatoes all look great too. :)

    Mine was busy mostly with inside chores, going with dad to store, pharmacy and DMV. But this morning we went out for breakfast with my uncle and aunt, we had pulled pork one night, had Christmas in July dinner Sunday, and dad picked me flowers yesterday. So overall, pretty nice. :)

    I don’t think there’s anything “mundane” about your life!! Have a beautiful weekend!

    I love seeing all your photos of the week.  Sweet faces, flowers, birthday and all.  Sorry about the sickness, our week has been full of that too. Mainly my boy, I am fighting it.  I have felt like a “real mommy”, bringing soup and all to minister to him

    Sweet pictures :)    This week for us included: Baby showers, moody teenagers, hyper 5 year olds that refuse to sleep, bbq’s, gardening, childbirth classes, endless laundry, and hot fudge sundaes. I’m ready for the weekend!

    my week was fun but hard at times.  The fun came when I had two days that were totally different and unexpected that I didn’t have to work and take care of the kids.  Hard at times like yesterday when the kids would not obey me or respect me and then fun and easy today with them getting along.  Also got some fun girl time with some friends tonight.  There’s nothing like friends and laughter to put you in a good mood ;)

    @redladybug18 - I agree, nothing lifts your spirits like a night out with good friends :)   Sorry your week was a little up and down.  Being a nanny can be such a sticky situation.  You’re with the children a lot but at the same time your hands are tied.  I checked out your photography blog Gabrielle.  Love it!  Thanks for sharing the link :)

    @estadquietos - That does sound like a nice week :)   You work very hard taking good care of your dad!  I love pulled pork!!  On a sandwich with a little coleslaw, oh yeah, that’s nice :)

    @Passionflwr86 - I agree :)

    @perelandra30 - The older I get the more I realize how special each day is.  I’ve decided to enjoy these times right now and as a memory!

    @bamsniko22407 - That does sound busy.  It’s hard to feel pulled in so many directions.  I hope that you will be able to simplify things soon :)   I always feel a little more relaxed when I’ve squeezed in some time to be creative!

    @lifeisadance - The pizza bread was pizza margarita on flat bread and it was SO good :)   Do they have Trader Joe’s in GA?  That’s were I got the flat bread.  I sliced and layered my garden tomatoes on the flat bread, then fresh basil, and sprinkled mozzarella and goat cheese on top… very yummy!

    We love Richard Scary at our house too!  They kids never get tired of looking at the pictures.  I’m always on the look out for them at thrift stores and the used book store.

    I love all these sweet “Clarita comments” by the way :)   A fun Monday morning treat!

    @inanorchard - No, no Trader Joe’s. :( But we have Walmart! Ha, like that’s even a comparison. :) But thanks for that recipe idea – I will have to try that! And yes, I love Richard Scarry as much as the girls. Have you ever read the ‘Pierre Bear’ story? That’s MY favorite. :)
