7 Completely unwild things about me

I’ve been tagged, and the time has come to answer the tag. This is for you @bethro78.

1.   When I was young I wanted to be a marine biologist.  Science was my worst subject, but I thought that fish were pretty and I liked sea otters, and that’s really all the thought I put into that decision.  This is why parents should never encourage children to follow their dreams.

2.  My Scottish accent sounds suspiciously like my French accent.

3.  Secretly I’m a redhead.

4.  I don’t wear lipstick.  I don’t like the way it looks on me.  I can never shake the feeling that my head has turned into a giant pair of lips.

5.  I love jelly bellies.  For our honeymoon we stayed in the sweetest little cabin on Orcas Island.  It had a huge bed with a goose down comforter, and a jar of jelly bellies sitting on the bedside table.  It was perfect.

6.  I don’t like sad movies, but I love a sad song.

7.  I was born on Easter Sunday (see I told you I’m not at all wild)

I think everyone I know has been tagged so I will forgo the tagging process.  Thanks for the fun Beth :)

Ha I love it! #1 made me laugh out loud for real.

I know a guy whose mom owns and rents out cabins on Orcas island.

My sister,  uncle, and two cousins are all redheads.

I was born on Labor day.

Do you see what I’m getting at here? We’re practically twins separated at birth.

I CANNOT! do a Scottish accent…I try. I can do Long Island really good…and Indian.
We’ll have to practice accents next week. ;)

My second son currently wants to be a marine biologist…I will make sure and not encourage his dream. Ha!

I just ate a cappuccino jelly belly a little while ago.
I live 45 minutes from The Jelly Belly factory! If you ever visit Chicago…I’ll take you there. =)

@down_onthefarm - Ok. Next ffe is going to have to be in Chicago.  (Like I have a big say..hahaha!) We’ll go on a field trip to the Jelly Belly Factory. You get free jellybellies. and a paper hat they MAKE you wear on the train tour. and a free small bag of jellybellies. and there is a sample bar where you can taste different flavors of jellybellies all day long.
And the best part…they have bags and bags of belly flops….imperfect jellybellies, super fresh, sold in two pound bags for super cheap!
Oh yeah, you and April would Love the place! =)

Oh, but the factory is in Kenosha Wisconsin…it’s actually not in Chicago…but it’s close!

When I was young, I wanted to be a Park Ranger.  Because I thought that they got to ride horses in the forrest all day. Turns out, not so much. Love, Trish (aka Flag Day/Graffiti Night Baby)

@Elizabethmarie_1 - Liz…do you mind terribly if you would just talk in the Long Island accent the whole way from Chicago to Ohio.  That is totally my FAV!! and I would so enjoy that. If its not too much trouble!

And April, loved your list!  We definitely share the love of jelly bellies!! I am sort of a fanatic about them. What is your favorite flavor? Mine is the red cinnamon one. I think. But there are SO many good ones.  I could wax poetic!   And I loved the one about your Scottish accent sounding suspiciously like your French accent. Too funny!

    So very fun!
Laughing about the lipstick, and feeling like your head is one giant pair of lips. So funny. :)
And the “secretly I’m a redhead.”
    And the jelly beans.
And I want to hear the Scottish accent! I cannot cannot do that one!
This little glimpse into little details is great! :)

ooo, Orcas Island.  My sister in law has a house there.  They lived there for a few years.  Gorgeous views straight out the livingroom windows.  Amazing.  They rent out their house now.

Also, I love Jelly Bellys.  So does my husband.  mmm..  now i want some.

@appalolly - Of couwse. I would louve to do muy New Yuork accent.
For years I thought I was doing Brooklyn…and then Jeff’s cousin FROM Brooklyn told me that No. I don’t sound like I’m from Brooklyn. He told me I sound like I could be Joey Buttafouco’s neighbor in Long Island…  I didn’t realize there was a difference.

I’ll sing opera to you in my LI accent the whole way to Ohio…doesn’t that sound like Fun!? Haha!!!

@bethro78 -  That’s just spooky Beth.  Oh funny that you would have connections to Orcas Island!

@ABAHM - My accents are terrible.  When I’m reading to the children sometimes I will attempt to use an accent for their amusement, but I would never do it around grownup-type people :)

@Elizabethmarie_1 - We have a Jelly Belly factory hear in N. CA too.  I’ve been their a couple of times and we are going there this March for Jude’s field trip.  I’m so excited!

@floridabreze -  HA HA!  I know it’s silly and all in my head but truly, every time I wear lipstick all I can see is my lips

@down_onthefarm - Actually, Wednesday suits me well.  Let’s make it a date (like how I sound all cool and collected?  but really I’m all a flutter with excitement!!!).

@smilesbymiles - I know.  That was a very irreverent thing for me to say wasn’t it Michelle?

@appalolly - A fellow Jelly Belly loving friend!! I knew you were a good egg Audrey!  The cinnamon is an all time favorite, but I also love the pear, margarita, green apple, and bubble gum flavors.  I love them all really.

@lifeisadance - I don’t know if I will if I will be brave enough to try my Scottish accent out in front of everyone.  It’s truly terrible!  But for you Clarita I just might

I like your reasons for becoming a marine biologist!  I wanted to be a vet/horse breeder but the vet decision was quickly stomped out in high school when I did my youth apprenticeship at a vet clinic and realized I hated being the “vet” to dogs and cats…they are NOT nice to doctors and I still have several scars from my years working there.

    #1- made me laugh
    #2- more laughter {my accents all go strangely awry into a southern thing}
    #3- i think you’d make a great redread
#4- you must have beautiful naturally colored lips then, because i heard
that ppl who wear lipstick end up “draining” all the natural color from
their lips. not sure how, but as a lifetime lipstick wearer, i believe
    it’s true.
#5- me too. but only certain flavors. i love buying a big box and having ppl bite into different ones and try to figure out what the flavor is
    #6- i like both. ;)
#7- that’s a perfect day to be born!!

and #8- excited to SEE you. :)

when I vision those lips it becomes wild for me too! =)

my family has red hair scattered throughout. One sister with beautiful red hair and two brothers with kinda strawberry blond color which changes over the years as they age. so far none of the 12 grandchildren are red heads.

accents, so excited to hear yours!!

loved to see this fun wild side of you! =)

Loved reading through the comments on this one — I still have a french accent on my English from my trip to the DRC.  It drives Craig’s nuts.  My excuse is that Zalen can understand me better.

@Elizabethmarie_1  and @down_onthefarm – Since I was unable to join in on the fun of ffe – maybe we can have mini one at the WI jelly belly place this summer?!!

I wanted to be a marine biologist when I was younger as well.  Kinda still do.    I love the ocean and I somehow ended up in MO – so far, far from the ocean.
